This completed proposal involved a new build house on a beautiful site overlooking Loch Indall at the edge of the village of Port Charlotte on the Isle of Islay.
The 5 bedroom family home provides flexible accommodation and living space within a few acres of grassy hillside. The design focuses on certain views, natural light and connection of spaces via a double height void over part of the living room connecting to a large upper hall play space for the clients’ four children. The black cladding and zinc roof differentiate the new house from the traditional white walled local cottages.
