Kilcreggan competition,
Argyll and Bute
Our entry was awarded runner up prize from the 50+ entries for the design competition to offer design ideas to the community of Kilcreggan.
The proposal involves a new coastal route through Kilcreggan and Cove linking them and showcasing the beautiful sea views and unique collection of listed buildings in the two villages. The route would be punctuated by shelters, barbeque pods, play areas, lookout platforms and boardwalks to add interest. The centre of Kilcreggan would have some new accommodation added in a new lane behind the main row of shops. This would be focused on the artistic links that the village already has with new live-work spaces, studios, small workshops, crafts and galleries. The proposal was rounded off with a new pavilion at the ferry pier to provide a start point for the new route and marker for the centre of the village.
